Project Description

Charleston Tea Plantation

Charleston Tea Plantation

$129per person

This trip will be full of surprises! Enjoy an included early lunch on John’s Island before heading to a South Carolina treasure: Angle Oak Tree. Estimated to be in excess of 500 years old, this incredible live oak is thought to be the oldest living thing in the country. Next we head to the Charleston Tea Plantation located on Wadmalaw Island, SC. For tea lovers, we promise a once in a lifetime experience. See hundreds of thousands of tea bushes stretching out acre after acre for almost as far as the eye can see. Learn how this Southern (iced) and British (hot) beverage is produced as you tour the plantation & factory, then visit the greenhouse to see up close and personal just what it takes to bring new tea bushes into the world. Our final stop is for something a little stronger. Deep Water Vineyard remains true to their Southern roots, growing Muscadine grapes, the only true native grape to the Southeastern United States. Enjoy a tasting of their five-different label Muscadine wines and keep the souvenir wine glass. Next, we head to Firefly Distillery and learn about the distillation process and meet the folks who make this Moonshine and more. In the Firefly Tasting Room, you can choose 6 samples to try from any of the 27 Firefly brands along with a keepsake shot glass.
