Madison in May

$119per person

This morning we travel to Social Circle, Georgia, to enjoy a delicious lunch buffet at the Blue Willow Inn. This historic community in Walton County is located some 40 miles east of Atlanta in the Historic Heartland section of Georgia. Established in 1818, Walton County is named for George Walton, one of the original signers of America’s Declaration of Independence. The Blue Willow Inn Restaurant is considered the finest example of traditional Southern cooking in the South. After our lunch, we will travel the short distance to Madison, GA. Historic Madison is renowned for one of Georgia’s largest National Register Historic Districts and will celebrate the 2019 Spring season in grand style with the region’s most popular tour event: the Madison in May Spring Tour of Homes! Experience the living history of Madison while strolling through a collection of the city’s finest architecturally significant private homes. This self-guided tour features 8 historic homes – several of which are within walking distance of the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center – as well as Madison’s 1895 Romanesque Revival style public graded school building, which now houses the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. The Tour of Homes tells the story of these grand structures and the genteel, gracious city of Madison, Georgia. This truly will be a tour to remember! After our tour, we board our coach and depart for Savannah with fond memories of our day in Madison.
