Jekyll Island

Jekyll Island

$149per person

Return to the Gilded age of the Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, and Vanderbilt families as we visit Jekyll Island today. This turn-of-the century vacation resort was once described as “the richest, the most exclusive, the most inaccessible club in the world.” Fortunately, the Island is now a State Park and is open for us to explore. Upon arrival, jump onto the guided tram tour of the entire 240-acre historic district which includes entrance into two of the “cottages” as well as the Faith Chapel. Lunch is then served in a private room at the famous Jekyll Island Club, once the private winter retreat of America’s wealthiest families. In the afternoon we join an eco-cruise from Jekyll Wharf to explore the scenic waterways of beautiful Jekyll Island. Observe the magnificent bottlenose dolphins feeding, playing, or simply cruising about in their natural habitat while you learn about their social behavior, feeding habits, and much more. The waters around Jekyll are home to one of the world’s largest populations of these beautiful creatures. Our tour will take you along the intra-coastal waterway, salt marshes, and wilderness beaches. Along with seeing dolphin there are often sea turtles, manatees, egrets, herons, roseate spoonbills, and osprey plus shrimp boats and luxury yachts.
